Trainer’s Training: (Field Staff Training)

The project staff was provided training by experienced experts on various aspects of organic farming and certification including selection of farmers, area, registration of farmers, cluster formation, on farm input management, day to day crop management, harvesting, sorting, cleaning, grading, transport, storage, marketing, regular field data recording for certification and traceability, risk assessment, risk management certification etc.

Farmers Training:

 Soil sample collection for analysis to find out soil health status  Compost making using entire farm waste and manures  Vermi-compost and Vermi wash making  Enrichment of compost with in-soil-culture-beneficial soil microbial flora and fauna.  Crop management including package of practices for different crops  Organic crop production, processing, grading, transportation and storage  Post harvest handling and marketing of organic crop produce through farmers self help groups/societies and market retail chains

Health Check Up Camp

Health and Nutrition Care Foundation conducted one health camp in school at in Narmada district of Gujarat state. A team of two Doctors, 2 lab technician, 1 pharmacist & 2 Social Workers together check about 79 school children and 9 women. After the check-ups the patients were provided with medicines as per their diagnosis. Following laboratory test were done by the lab technician under the supervision & prescription of the Doctors.

Demostration on NADEP Compost

• NADEP compost making: These are very nutrient rich composts made from the farm waste and the cow dung. The project field staff has been assisting the farmers in construction of NADEP units and for preparation of compost.

Demostration on Vermicompost Production

• Vermi compost making: It refers to the animal manure and crop waste eaten by the earth worms and converted into nutrient rich compost which contains about 40 to 50 per cent more nitrogen, phosphorous, potash and plant growth promoters. Each farmer of the cluster was provided with training of vermi compost
